HMD Global – the home of Nokia phones has just kicked off the rollout of the Android 11 (Go edition) update to the Nokia 1.3. The first wave only brings the update to 1 market – Australia. The announcement was made on the Nokia phone’s community forums. The remaining markets should receive the update within the coming weeks, however, there’s no clear announcement as of now.
Nokia 1 series is the most affordable series of Nokia smartphones. The Nokia 1.3 was launched back in 2020 with a Snapdragon 215 CPU under the hood. Here’s hoping that the updated software is not too heavy for the entry-level device. To know more about what you’ll get with the Android 11 Go Edition, you can check out the blog post by Google.
For Australia, Nokia Mobile expects to deliver the update to 100% of the user base by the 24th of July. If you are from a different region, then you can try using a VPN connection to Australia and if you are lucky, you may get the update notifications. Otherwise, just wait for the Wave 2 rollout to begin.
