At last, with the start of new year, HMD Global has uploaded the source code of Nokia 7 Plus. The 7 Plus is probably the most loved Nokia smartphone since the return of Nokia brand.
There is still no official bootloader unlock method available for the Nokia 7 Plus. So, the source code does not hold much value to the ROM developers or the modders. It is more or less released to comply with the legal requirements under the GPL license.
However, the activity at XDA Developers suggests that a lot of Nokia 7 Plus users do have an unlocked bootloader, thanks to the unofficial unlock method which is now patched. Since something is better than nothing, it is nice to have the source code, be it only for complying with the legal requirements. We can also keep some hope for the Nokia 7 Plus to become the next device to receive official bootloader unlock support!
