HMD Global is ready to add another member to its family of Nokia-branded smartphones. The recent tweet on their Twitter mentions a launch event scheduled for the 5th of December 2019. It was the same date when Nokia 8.1 was launched last year. However, we are most likely not seeing a successor.

NokiaMob added that the event’s location is Cairo in Egypt. Given the country’s economy, we should expect a budget device. So, it is very likely that we’ll be seeing the Nokia 2.3 on the 5th of December. The device has earlier appeared at various certifications, and lately, the price of Nokia 2.2 was also cut down in India.
The teaser video hints at Endurance and Durability since you cannot take just any device on your exploration journey. We might just see a return of the big battery as was featured in the original Nokia 2, 2 years ago. Even if this won’t be a high-profile event, it keeps some coverage in the news which is something that HMD needs quite a lot. Hopefully, the new device will deliver the value that budget buyers seek when looking to buy a new smartphone.
