Nokia has made the Nokia 2 official in India. That’s nearly 4 weeks after the launch event which took place in India. Nokia 2 costs Rs. 6,999 and comes with 4,100mAh battery, Snapdragon 212 processor and 1 GB of RAM. The price is lesser than the Rs. 7500 which I expected since the official price in EUR is 100.
There were rumors of a Nokia 2 variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. However, that has not happened so far. We’ll probably see that happening at a later stage. For now, the Nokia 2 with 1 GB of RAM can be purchased only from offline stores. Some re-sellers are also selling it on eBay.in, but the asking price is higher, since the re-sellers need to profit after paying 18% GST & eBay fees additionally.
The phone is currently seen in only black and white colors. The special and unique copper color flavor again seems to be missing. Why does HMD announce those colors if they are never supposed to hit the shelves?
Jio Data Offer
Jio subscribers buying a Nokia 2 can get upto 45 GB of additional data. All recharges of Rs. 309 and above will provide 5GB extra data; limited to a maximum of 9 recharges or August 31, 2018; whichever happens earlier.
12-Month Accidental Damage (Insurance)
Servify is offering 12 months of accidental damage protection for the Nokia 2. The catch is that the Nokia 2 customers need to open a digital and paperless bank account with Kotak Mahindra Bank called Kotak 811 and fund it with Rs. 1,000 or higher. The funding can be withdrawn anytime after the activation of the offer. Do note that existing customers of Kotak Mahindra Banka are not eligible.
