A Nokia phone has appeared at the FCC. The model number is TA-1029 which was previously spotted at the Russian certification. In a later report, the model TA-1035 is also certified. The Russian certification saw the TA-1029 listed along with TA-1007. So, three of them are supposed to be variants (single/dual?) of the same device. The Nokia 3310 is the closest to these product codes as it uses TA-1008 and TA-1030 for its variants.
But a Smartphone it is!
However, the product description at FCC marks it as “Smart Phone”. The Bluetooth information also shows that the Bluetooth version on TA-1029 is 4.1. The Nokia 3310 uses Bluetooth 3.0 and it is unlikely for HMD Global to be heading to Bluetooth 4.1 on a feature phone. So, this is probably one of the upcoming Nokia smartphones.

Is it the rumored Nokia 7?
The Nokia 8 is seen with the product code TA-1012 in the leaked renders. The other product code for Nokia 8 is TA-1004. This leaves us with 3 rumored smartphones which haven’t been connected to a product code yet – Nokia 2, Nokia 7 and Nokia 9. The Nokia 9 is supposed to be a true flagship, so it should bring support for Bluetooth 5.0. What we are left with now is the Nokia 2 and Nokia 7.
No it is the Nokia 2!
Enough of playing around! The device is the Nokia 2 since the images look similar to the sketches of Nokia 2 which got leaked earlier. Have a look below. The device is also smaller at 15.4cm diagonally which can only offer about a 5-inch display after keeping space for the bezels.
The TA-1035 which appread on 8th of August at FCC also comes with same physical dimensions. So, it is another variant of the Nokia 2.

Nokia is holding up a launch event on August 16th. The Nokia 8 is one of the expected devices. Who knows if the TA-1029 also shows up at the launch event as Nokia 2?
