After the Nokia 3.2, Nokia Mobile has also started the rollout of Android 10 to Nokia 4.2 in more markets. Effectively the Wave 2, the update expands to more countries, but unlike the Nokia 3.2, there are still a lot of pending markets. The Android 10 update to Nokia 4.2 should become available in all countries (and operators) except those mentioned below.
Note: Only 10% of the users in newly added markets will get the update today. The rollout will expand to 50% by April 24th and 100% by April 26th.
Wave 2 markets pending approvals:
- Bulgaria – Vivacom
- Chile
- Colombia – Claro and Movistar
- Czech Republic – T-Mobile and O2
- Ecuador – Movistar
- El Salvador – Claro
- France – Orange
- Germany – Telekom
- Greece – Cosmote
- Guatemala – Claro
- Honduras – Claro
- Hungary – Magyar Telekom
- Italy – TIM
- Macedonia – T-Mobile
- Mexico – Movistar and AT&T
- New Zealand
- Nicaragua – Claro
- Poland – T-Mobile and Orange
- Romania – Telekom RO, OR RO, VF RO and DiGi Ro
- Slovakia – Slovak Telekom
- UK – All
Most of the pending markets only have a single operator who has not yet approved the update. So, removing the SIM card or using a SIM card from a different operator can improve the chances of getting the update earlier.
All in all, it is a nice sight from Nokia Mobile that they are being clear about the update status. Now we know a little better how complicated the update approval and delivery process is. Anyhow, let us know if you get the update on your Nokia 4.2 along with your region.
