The Nokia 5.1, today’s 3rd launch helps Nokia revamp the budget & mid-range portfolio where 60% of its customers exist. Nokia 5.1 is reusing most of the design from last year’s Nokia 5. The very noticeable parts of Nokia 5.1 are the improved cameras and Nokia’s decision to switch to MediaTek for the CPU. The new Nokia 5.1 packs a 0.3-inch bigger display (at 5.5-icnhes) in a 2mm narrower body.
The Nokia 5.1 features a MediaTek Helios P18 chipset. Performance wise, the Nokia 5.1 is said to offer 40% more performance than the last year’s. However, I hope that MediaTek will not limit Nokia from keeping up its commitment of regular security and Android updates. The Nokia 5.1 comes in two storage variants – 2GB/16GB & 3GB/32GB.
