HMD Global has started delivering the Google security patch for March to the devices in China. Nokia 6 (2017) and Nokia 6 (2018) along with the Nokia 7 are already receiving the Google security patch for March 2018.
Security patch is all that the update carries. So, it seems that there is still time before the users in China will receiving the Android 8.1 upgrade. Hence, the update is pretty small in size. My Nokia 7 received the update barely weighing 80 MB. Other devices will be receiving a similar sized package as well.
Android 8.1 is still pending, but I am still overwhelmed with HMD’s commitment to security patches. It is always a good feeling running on most recent security patches which ensures that your phone has lesser loopholes than most of the others.
If you’re from China, then you can head straight to Settings > System > System update to initiate the update process.
