Nokia 8 is just out from Zack’s laboratory and it’s all recorded. Watch the video above as Zack takes the Nokia 8 apart on his YouTube channel – JerryRigEverything. The teardown is extremely helpful for somebody who is attempting a repair. It is also helpful for Nokia fans as they get to see the internals of the brand new Nokia 8.
Nokia 8 does not have any screws on the outside. So, the only way to get inside is by detaching the screen first. It is best done by heating up the display so that the adhesive underneath loosens up and the display can be removed. Next comes the steel/aluminum mid-plate which is held tightly with the help of 19 screws (sorry lazy repair guys 😅).
The battery is affixed to the other side of the mid-plate using the typical glue which manufacturers have been using for long. A part of the copper pipe for heat dispersion rests underneath the battery. It is surprising that the heat pipe does not rest directly over the processor. But as long the phone stays cool, it is none of our business.
Zack concludes that the Nokia 8 is repairable, but the task is tricky and takes quite an effort. What do you think? Let your thoughts flow right down below!
