Nokia brings Android Pie (beta) to the Nokia 6.1 Plus

Android Pie beta 6.1 plus

After delivering stable Android Pie to the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia Mobile is inviting the Nokia 6.1 Plus users to beta test the Android Pie release. Interested Nokia 6.1 Plus users can now signup their devices at Nokia phones beta labs to get the first build of Android Pie for their 6.1 Plus. The beta update (v. 3.25B sized 1258.0MB) also brings the Android security patch for October to the device

Nokia phones beta labs is a destination where Nokia enthusiasts can obtain pre-release software. This helps Nokia Mobile in testing and fine-tuning the software for a more smoother experience for all the users.

Most releases at Beta labs are stable to be used as a daily driver. However, there can still be bugs and missing features. If you aren’t someone who can happily live alongside some buys, the beta labs are not for you. Unlike the Developer Preview releases, the beta labs releases will not wipe the data on your device.

Note: Beta labs are only available for Nokia phones running Android One. Nokia phones sold in China cannot take part in the beta labs program.

To get started, simply:

  1. Visit Nokia phones beta labs.
  2. Log in using your Nokia account.
  3. Register your Nokia 6.1 Plus with the IMEI number and cellular operator details.
  4. Wait for an OTA update to Android 9.0 (Pie).
