HMD Global announced that all Nokia devices with Zeiss optics will receive the updated Nokia Camera app. The app is supposed to bring back the manual camera controls which everybody has loved in the Nokia Lumia range of smartphones. The manual controls allow the user to control various aspects (ISO, Focus, etc) before clicking the picture.
While we are yet to receive the update on the global devices, Hikari_Calyx who is a senior member at XDA Developers has dropped the APK of the new app. The APK is extracted out of an unreleased (most likely beta) Android update which he installed on his Nokia 7. Calyx also dropped a shot of the app running on his Nokia 7 to serve as proof for those who do not believe easily.

As per comments on the post at XDA, the app works on most devices, even from other manufacturers. However, some features fail to work since there are specific elements which the app relies on that are only available in Nokia phones.
If you have a Nokia Android phone, then you can download and install the APK to your device to see if it works. Alternatively, you can always wait for HMD Global to push the official update which will be tested to work properly on your Nokia device.Download Nokia Camera with Pro Mode UI
I’m soon going to download the app on my Nokia 7 and play around with it. But before that I need to backup the stock app, just in case the new version doesn’t work well yet.
