Developers can now download the source code of Nokia 3.1. Nokia Mobile (HMD Global) has uploaded them on their Open Source releases webpage. It is worth noting that the Nokia 3.1 is not yet retailing. Apart from Russia, where it is on pre-order, we have no news of the device showing availability in other parts of the world.
There are 2 variations which HMD Global has uploaded, suggesting that the device will receive an OTA update as soon as the user turns it on for the first time. That said, it can also be very possible that the device comes out of the factory directly running the V 0.40A.
It is good to see Nokia Mobile giving importance to releasing the source codes to the public. The GPL or LGPL license require companies to make the code used publicly available. So, they are not only helping the developers, but also themselves. And talking of helping developers, Nokia Mobile has not yet provided any official way to unlock the bootloader, which they promised.Download Nokia 3.1 Source Code
