Update 19/07/2018: The device is officially launched in Hong Kong. Find all the details here.
A report from Hong Kong (via mobilemagazinehk.com) claims that the Nokia X6 is finally expanding outside of China. As per the report, the Nokia X6 is scheduled for launch in Hong Kong on 19th of July 2018. The device is said to go through a change of name and it will be called the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
The specifications and everything will remain the same as what we see in the Nokia X6 for China. One obvious change will be the usage of Android One software over the customized OS that Nokia Mobile uses on devices sold in China. So, the Android One logo should appear underneath the back glass. The price and date of availability will be revealed at the launch event on 19th.
Nokia X6 (or the Nokia 6.1 plus) is powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor and features a 5.8-inch display with a resolution of 2280 × 1080. There is a notch at the top which some of us love to hate :P. The device comes in a flavor of 3 colors and a choice of storage and RAM options.
The report comes from a famous website. So, there are good chances that this will be the real deal. Still, nothing is official until it is made official by an official.
We don’t know if Nokia Mobile (HMD Global) has plans of expanding the Nokia X6 to other markets. But we do see a very strong demand from the Indian market. It will be best for HMD if they also bring it to India after the Hong Kong release.
