Nokia branded phones with Carl Zeiss lenses are coming back real soon. HMD Global today announced a partnership with ZEISS, making them the exclusive user of ZEISS lenses in smartphones.
Nokia and Zeiss are no alien to each other. Nokia’s camera innovations combined with the Zeiss lenses brought powerful smartphone cameras. From Nokia N8 and 808, through the Lumia 920, 720 and 1020 and the others, Nokia has shown its camera expertise time and again. Now, with the exclusive partnership with Zeiss, we can again see some amazing cameras on Nokia Android phones.

This announcement raises the hopes for the Nokia 9. We can expect groundbreaking camera optics in the Nokia 9 which will require the competition to rethink its imaging R&D. Nokia and HMD are all set to regain the throne!
